Tasty Tuesday

On this week's Tasty Tuesdays, we have.....drum roll please.....

Grilled Cheese and More Sandwich
or some people call it..
A cheese, meat, more cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, and jelly sandwich!

Which name sounds better to you? And yes, I know what you're probably thinking..."Are you serious, Bethany? That sounds and looks super disgusting! Who would want to eat something like that? Why would you post something so nasty?" Well....at least that's what I would think of myself, if I wasn't myself. And that's practically what I was thinking when my friend, Wendy told me about it! But it's honestly not bad at all! Shocker, I know.

Remember my 'Bear Lake' post awhile ago? Well, us three girls cooked for ourselves, and this sandwich is something that we made and ate for lunch!

Here is Alyssa (right) and I (left) cooking up a storm in the kitchen!

We were seriously cooking up a storm...you see that smoke? Wendy (right) and Alyssa (left).

Wendy was the mastermind of this sandwich, so if you have any complaints...don't blame me! But seriously, I had no idea someone could look so cute in the kitchen...

Alright...onto the sandwich! First, put mayonnaise on a piece of bread!

Add mustard on top of the mayonnaise.

On the other piece of bread, put your jelly. Yes, jelly. I promise you won't die! If you're anything like me you just stood there with your jaw touching the ground, wondering on a scale of 1-10 how awful it would taste. Just do it. You will have no regrets. I promise. We used strawberry...or maybe raspberry? I don't really know.

Next, put on some cheese!

And then some cold lunch meat...

And then some MORE cheese...

Then put the sandwich in a buttered skillet, and grill it!

MmmMmmhmhuhhmnhummphglhuhgh....

I stood here just holding this piece of sandwich. I wasn't sure if I should take the bite or not. But I did! And it was surprisingly good! The slight spicy-ness of the mustard and the really sweet jelly kinda sorta canceled each other out or something like that.

The day after I got home from this Bear Lake trip with the girls, it was going to be just me and my dad for lunch...So of course I had the perfect sandwich to make him! After I told him about it, he immediately insisted that we go out to eat for lunch.

Feel free to try it and let me know what you think! I won't be offended if you don't enjoy it. A mustard and jelly sandwich isn't for everybody! :D

Peace

  6. Yikes! By looking at the "process" pictures, I have to say the the decision to use leftover church ham and cheese was not the best decision I have ever made... :) It doesn't make for very attractive pictures. Some how the combination is absolutely delicious... but you probably will have to try it to believe it! :) Oh good times - good memories!
