Tasty Tuesdays - Pizza!!

So pizza is like the most common and most delicious food EVER!!! And you know what's better than pizza??.....HOMEMADE PIZZA!!!!

Occasionally, I like to turn the girls' nap time (at my nanny job) into productive cooking time for me! :) Last week, Caelan woke up earlier than her sisters and was just in time to help me finish making the pizza! Ours ended up looking more like a square than a circle! But hey, more pizza to eat!

PIZZA CRUST: Makes 2 Medium size Pizzas

-3 cups flour
-2 tsp active dry yeast
-1 cup warm water
-2 Tbs oil
-1/4 tsp salt

In a mixing bowl, combine 1.5 cups flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and oil.
Beat with an electric mixer on low for 30 seconds, then on high for 3 minutes.

-Use a wooden spoon to stir in the rest of flour
-Knead dough by hand on counter top sprinkled with flour
-Cover and let sit for 10 mins (not in a warm area)
-Separate into 2 pieces, then roll them out into 2 circles (leave the edges thicker for crust)

Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Add toppings, then bake again for 10-15 minutes more.

Toppings Ideas:
Pizza Sauce, Mayonnaise, Mozzarella Cheese, Sausage, Pepperoni, Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Mushrooms, Tomatoes (eww), Onions, Ham, Chicken, Olives, and Peppers. And of course, those are just a FEW IDEAS....please use your own imagination and add your favorite things!

And the girls LOVED this pizza!!! They thought it was awesome! Seriously! I know this for a fact because I caught them both smuggling leftovers and hiding behind the dishwasher eating the cold pizza. I was upset because it totally spoiled their supper, but I was also excited because they loved the recipe so much! So, ya they really liked it! And their mom was very impressed with the girls' cooking interest and ability. So there you have it...a homemade pizza recipe that is kid-tested, mom-approved, and tastes AWESOME!!!

And YES we are both sitting indian-style on the kitchen counter eating our lunch. Don't worry, it's totally normal.

Peace Out!

  1. Ha Ha! Looks yummy! But it's too hot to use my oven. I've heard about grilling pizza. Has anyone tried it?
